Student Professional Development Program

Initiative idea

This initiative aims to develop the professional skills of King Faisal University students who are expected to graduate, each within their field of specialization. It does so by offering a set of specialized training programs that qualify them to obtain accredited professional certificates, based on market needs.

 

Initiative Objectives

  1. Enable King Faisal University students to obtain accredited professional certificates in various fields demanded by the labor market.
  2. Distinguish KFU students who hold these certificates from those who studied the same specialization solely through academic courses.
  3. Increase the employment opportunities of university students in the labor market.

 

Requirements for Implementation

  • Certified trainers from university faculty members accredited by the bodies that grant professional certificates.
  • Establish cooperation agreements with qualified and specialized institutions to train and prepare students.

 

Target Groups

  • Students expected to graduate from King Faisal University each year.

 

Importance of the Initiative

The initiative seeks to provide students with specialized skills in various professional fields, enhancing their chances of securing job opportunities and supporting the stability of employees within institutions.

 

Implementation Activities

  1. Self-implementation track: The university trains students on professional certificates and prepares them for specialized exams.
  2. Success Partners track: Partnerships with specialized organizations to train students and qualify them to obtain certificates.
  3. Awareness track: Raising awareness among students by guiding them to join training programs offered by specialized organizations, either free of charge or through collaborations with King Faisal University.

 

Summary of Achievements and Number of Beneficiaries

Two versions of the initiative were implemented during the academic years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021, with the third version in progress for 2021/2022.

  • Number of participating colleges: 9
  • Number of training hours: 1,016 training hours

 

Expected Outcomes

Increase the chances of King Faisal University students in obtaining job opportunities in the labor market after acquiring certificates accredited by specialized authorities.
